Seeing @korilately at @saintblondesalon has been a game changer for my skin. Never have I ever been able to keep up with a skincare routine for my face but this woman has done wonders and given me a simple easy down to earth routine that works.

This is one of the last candid shots that I took of my dad (napping with Heyden) when we were all together. And while I’ve got tears running down my face, I’m also smiling because that man sure did love to nap. The other photo is baby me asleep on dad. So I mean … 37 years of napping together. And yes, if the family was together you could always find someone tucked in with him if he was napping.

One of the things I miss the most and struggle with a lot is the fact that with dad we always felt safe. We could let down our walls and just be ourselves. We could close our eyes and just rest. Because dad was there. There hasn’t been much resting over the last nine months. I am sleeping better but there are times that I need that feeling of rest and have struggled to find it. Still trying to figure things out. And that’s okay.

Over the weekend, I took a trip to Ames for some basketball and BBQ. It was great to get out of the house and spend some quality time with family! However, I had to make a quick stop to refuel and wash my car, and of course, I went to my favorite KwikStar store on the way. I always choose Unleaded 88 as it supports our local farmers and promotes a healthier environment, which makes me, a farm-raised woman, happy. Moreover, I got an additional $0.05 off per gallon from Kwik Star rewards on top of my gift card!
